Friday 13th made me cry
So it started out like any other normal day. Nothing too out of the norm. I'm not near as superstitious as I used to be so I didn't even realize that it was Friday 13th (scary ghosts sounds here) I went to work and left early to go to Planned Parenthood. Just a normal appointment to get birth control, a years supply. We leave for Spain soon, so I wanted to be prepared. Didn't want any accidents. So I get there, wait 2 hours before I'm seen.....and thats with an appointment. I really can't complain its all free and the nurses are nice. "Nichole" called a nurse. As I walk back to the doctors area she hands me the cup. Don't need any explanation I know the routine. Just a pregnancy test. I never sweat these things. I'm never pregnant. Bathroom. Pee in the cup. Cup back to nurse. Waiting starts again, this time no magazines or conversations to overhear. Here comes the nurse. I follow her down the hall and turn towards the hall that goes towards the rooms with the stirrups. She went left. Ok, maybe they expanded....its has been over 6 years since I've been to this one. Door opens and its an office. Oh I get it procedure has changed. I sit down. My 2nd cheek hadn't even touched the chair and the Nurse says "You are pregnant." Very matter of fact. It was not a joke. Disclaimer: This is the PG version. "WHAT?!?!" Then I cry. Doctor talk, doctor talk...blah blah blah. I get out of the clinic and call Danny. Do you remember the scene in Anchor Man when Ron Burgundy calls the news station from the "Glass box of emotion" after Baxter had been punted off the Coronado bridge? Insert scene here.
